On July 9, at 5:00 PM, Europe House in Belgrade will host the presentation of the book “Resolution 808. Inside the Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia”. The event is organized by the Humanitarian Law Center.

Resolution 808 combines the photographic work of Martino Lombezzi and the journalistic research of Jorie Horsthuis. Through exclusive access to the Tribunal’s archives and the key figures involved in the trials, the publication offers insight into the institution where war criminals such as Milošević, Karadžić and Mladić were prosecuted, while also raising questions about the achievements and limitations of international criminal justice, and possible alternatives to ad hoc tribunals.

The discussion will explore the legacy of the ICTY, its contribution to dealing with the past and accepting established facts about the wars of the 1990s within Serbian society, as well as the reach and perception of international justice in light of current global developments.

The event will feature Jorie Horsthuis, co-author of the publication and journalist, Martino Lombezzi, co-author of the publication and photographer, and Srđan Milošević, historian and lawyer. The discussion will be moderated by Jasmina Lazović, Executive Director of the Humanitarian Law Center.

The presentation is part of the “People Remember People” programme, through which civil society in Serbia is marking this year’s anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide.

The event will be held in Serbian and English, with simultaneous interpretation provided.
