Emiliano Mancuso. A Different Kind of Beauty. Italy 2013-2018

Open to the public from June 14 to October 6, 2019, at the Museum of Rome in Trastevere “A Different Kind of Beauty. Italy 2003-2018”, dedicated to the work of Emiliano Mancuso , who passed away prematurely last year.

The exhibition is curated by Renata Ferri , who has selected four different bodies of work created over a fifteen-year period, revealing a suffering humanity, a wounded Italy constantly searching for its identity, perpetually oscillating between stereotype confirmation and melancholic postcards.

The exhibition is promoted by Roma Capitale , Department of Cultural Growth – Capitoline Superintendency of Cultural Heritage and is produced and organized by Officine Fotografiche con Zona , PCM Studio , Postcart editions in agreement with Emiliano Mancuso’s family, and is created with the support of Digital Imaging partner of Canon.

The exhibition will feature Emiliano Mancuso’s main works:

Terre di Sud (2003-2008)
State of Italy (2008-2011)
Felix’s Diary (2016)
Le Cicale (2018, co-directed by Federico Romano)

Around 150 photographs on display .

The various chapters of the exhibition are accompanied by texts by Lucia Annunziata, Domenico Starnone, and Mimmo Lombezzi, as well as by curator Renata Ferri, with English translations by Francesca Povoledo.
