Faghan- Daughters of Afghanistan

Faghan- Daughters of Afghanistan

II Edition of the International Festival of Gender Economy - Villa Altieri, Rome

The Oltre Association’s International Festival of Gender Economics (FIDEG Oltre) returns to Rome, for its second edition, on May 19 and 20, 2025, in the historic Villa Altieri (Viale Manzoni, 47). A unique event on the Italian and international scene, created with the aim of promoting gender equality in the economy, combating economic violence, and building a more equitable and inclusive society.

The initiative is promoted by Oltre, an association active for years in the fight against inequality. Oltre is supported by numerous institutional, academic, business and non-profit sector realities.

The year’s theme, “Dialogue on equality. Generations compared” highlights the urgent need to build bridges between different ages and sensibilities in order to tackle crucial challenges together.

Among the events of the Festival, the opening of the exhibition “Faghan. Daughters of Afghanistan” inaugurates, 19 May: nineteen intense portraits of Afghan women who fled their country and now live in Italy as refugees. Photographs by Simona Ghizzoni , texts by Emanuela Zuccalà, curated by Giulia Tornari. The production by Nove Caring Humans and Zona give life to a powerful visual and narrative journey that tells stories of resistance, courage, and hope.

This central moment combines art, rights, and direct testimony. The exhibition offers to the public a profound insight into the consequences of economic and social violence.
