Telling the story of the Bellaria Film Festival means recounting a specific part of Italian cinema: that of experimental, independent cinema. It also means recounting the ferment surrounding cinema (of those who made it, of those who watched it) in northern Italy in the 1980s, from the Turin Film Festival to the Bergamo Film Meeting.
